Sarita's Path from Leading Within
A Note from the Publisher
Before I introduce you to the woman behind The Inner Boardroom, I want to share something personal. As the founder and publisher of Tweed Coast Living, I wear a lot of hats — editor, storyteller, strategist, team leader and above all, a mum navigating the beautiful chaos of business and life. Like so many of us, I’ve got big dreams — to triple our readership, to secure our forever home, to show up more present and powerful in all the spaces I move through.
So when I received a call from Sarita a few months ago, keen to find out about the magazine, the synchronicity was not lost on me. We spoke about a variety of things including the many crossroads we get to encounter in business and life. Sarita shared with me how 3 years ago, she played a game called The Wish that changed her direction in business and life. This became the catalyst for the creation of The Inner Boardroom. She then invited me to experience this game for myself.
When I first sat down to play, Sarita asked me the simplest, most disarming question:
“What would you like to create for you?”
And I froze.
Not because I didn’t have a list, but because none of it really struck that chord of truth.
Underneath all the practical goals was something deeper, something a little vague, but wildly
important: I just wanted to feel happy. That was my answer. And Sarita didn’t blink. She didn’t try to fix me or offer a five-step plan. Instead, she gave me permission to explore exactly that, to let the wanting be enough.
As we continued to play, The Wish revealed the truth of what I wanted to create…my wish. I wanted to get back to surfing. And from that moment, somehow, everything began to shift.
Sarita has this magic about her, a grounded, generous presence that makes you feel like you’ve known her your whole life. She has a way of leading you back to the quiet clarity inside yourself. Her work blends strategy with spirit, insight with action, and it has deeply transformed my life.
Sarita’s journey has been one of reinvention, learning to listen deeply, and stepping into change with courage.
Here is her story, one that reminds us what it really means to return to ourselves and lead
from within.
Sarita, and her then husband first arrived in Australia with their three children under four, no support network, and no real roadmap for what would come next, just a fierce sense of possibility and an unshakable desire for adventure.
Over the next 13 years, they built a successful business for a global company whilst Sarita was simultaneously navigating the demands of motherhood and life in a new country.
“If you really want to meet every part of yourself, the brilliant, the messy and the shadowy, have kids and/or start a business,” Sarita laughs. “It brings everything to the surface.”
But like so many high performers, her outward success came at a high personal cost.
By 2006, the cracks began to show. A series of life-altering challenges, health issues, financial setbacks and a painful family breakdown, forced her to re-evaluate everything.
“I’d spent decades in fast-paced, high-performance environments. I was all about thinking, doing, pushing,” she reflects. “But then, my femur literally snapped. My body had been whispering for years, and I hadn’t listened. That moment made it impossible to keep going the way I had been.”
This injury was a crossroad moment which became a wake-up call, the turning point that launched her into many years of deep personal work, and ultimately, into her life’s calling. What began as a personal healing journey slowly transformed into something far bigger.
A Leap of Faith to the Northern Rivers
In 2021, Sarita followed another intuitive nudge. She packed her car, left Melbourne, the city she had called
home for 25 years, and set off with no plan other than to follow where she felt most alive. That journey led her to the Northern Rivers.
“I thought I was heading to Queensland,” she says, “but I landed in Casuarina. And when I arrived, I just knew: I’m home.”
What was supposed to be a short stay became a permanent move. Sarita has now rooted herself, and her practice,
into the fabric of the local community. And it was here in the Northern Rivers that Sarita first encountered The Wish.
The Wish
Created by Australian Business Leader and international spiritual teacher Louise Laffey, The Wish offers a unique solution for those of us in business, looking for a creative and innovative approach that also delivers real life bottom line results.
Sarita went on to be trained personally by Louise, and is now part of a specialist group of global facilitators who bring The Wish into business and leadership spaces, helping others reconnect with what they truly desire and guiding them back into alignment.
“It’s been the most aligned chapter of my life. I’ve never felt so clear, or so grounded.” Time for a New Kind of Leadership
From this grounded space and through her
experiences as a Wish facilitator, witnessing profound changes for her clients, a new level of clarity emerged for Sarita and The Inner Boardroom was born. At its heart, The Inner Boardroom isn’t a business program or a quick-fix mindset hack. Yes, it draws on leading-edge transformational tools, but it’s more than that, it’s a space, a container, for people who are ready to lead from the inside out…it’s where structure meets spirit, where energy and strategy align, and where clarity replaces burnout.
Clients walk away with a personalised roadmap, insight-driven clarity, and tangible steps — but also a deeper connection to their energetic intelligence, revealing a new kind of leadership. Is The Inner Boardroom for you?
“What if you didn’t need fixing?,” Sarita says. What if you just needed to tap deeper into the power and the wisdom of who you really are? That’s what The Inner Boardroom is about.”
Sarita’s clients range from CEO’s and partnerships through to founders and teams scaling businesses.
What clients uncover when they work with her is the transformation that can come at the intersection of leading with head and heart. It’s for people who are tired of outsourcing their value, decisions, or wellbeing. Leaders who want to be more effective and authentic in their performance and start connecting, back to themselves, to their vision and to what really truly matters.”
In a world focussed on quick outcomes and juggling competing priorities, Sarita’s work invites us to slow down. To reflect. To ask — and answer — the real questions. Like:
